"It was my delight to mentor George Casselberry's presentation on birding by ear, not only for Self-Advocacy Voices but for the Champaign County (Illinois) Audubon Society. I came in thinking that I was the expert, and as a retired pastor, I was able to help George with structuring his presentation. But he taught me so much about birding by ear, and his incredible abilities to identify birds I had trouble telling apart, and even distinguishing the sex of birds even experts couldn't do. While there are some very good ear birders in CCAS, nobody at his presentation could match him. I began our relationship by thinking of him as disabled, or differently abled. Now I think of him as an outstanding birder, an excellent musician, and an all-around nice guy with marvelous abilities."

"Hello Lilly, thank you so much. You had put so much effort and the program went very well. All our family friends wanted to convey their appreciation to you. Nayna of course was good, and I really liked how Elizabeth read the whole book! The professor from Pitt was excellent. Anisha is our family friend, and we always are glad to see the family. Thanks to all your colleagues, Allison, and I missed some names. Thank you."

"I have been a member of SAV for about a year now. It took me awhile to get fully involved, because the organization was started for younger adults, and I am way past that point. Since then, I have come to know and really appreciate the members of SAV, who are remarkable and inspiring. I am now a member of the core staff. When I am working on a program, while I know that our purpose is to serve people with disabilities, I forget that any of us of have disabilities. We are, simply, members of a wonderful group, helping each other. I am proud to be a part of SAV."
